The domaine began with Joseph Matrot and his wife Marguerite Amoignon, who settled in Meursault in 1914 and expanded the vineyards. Successive generations modernized and grew the estate, with Pierre Matrot taking over in 1937 and his son Thierry leading vinification from 1983.
